Oct. 27, 2004Note: MPR is attempting to use the City of St. Paul's credit rating to purchase WCAL/KMSE. The lead underwriter for the bonds is Piper Jaffray. Note that of the seven Piper Jaffray board members, three are members of the MPR Board of Trustees (Addison Piper, Michael Francis, and Frank Sims) and two are members of the St. Olaf Board of Regents. (Addison Piper and Kristine Johnson). The report indicates MPR's plan to pay back the loans through capital campaign funds. Saint Paul HRA commissioners are members of the Saint Paul City Council.
